GIVE BACK TO THOSE IN NEED
We support “The Shoe That Grows” an amazing non-profit action committed to practical compassion helping children in need of shoes.
Consumerism tends to take us away from real happiness, at the same time basic problems like eating, drinking, washing, dressing remain the same unchanged issues in regions around the globe touched by poverty.
Does that sounds counter productive from a brand selling goods to say that?
Not really, we need products that solves problems, gives solutions, products that last in time and make us feel good. When we created the Sokini minimal sock, we didn’t try to create any sort of product but we focused to solve a problem in an effective, aesthetic and innovative way.
We solved a problem for our own well-being and now we give back to the world, making these amazing little socks available for others.
In the same way, our minimal philosophy of living pushes us to give back to those in need. That’s why we consider that some of the profits generated by the sales should help others. By buying the Sokini’s Minimalist Socks you are giving a little bit of your kindness to the world you are living in, a world made of beings and starting with children.
Sokini supports “the shoe that grows” the first project of “Because International” a non-profit organization committed to practical compassion. A shoe that lasts five years and grows five sizes. With this shoe, a kid can always have a pair of shoes that fit. They can stay healthy and happy – ready to take the next steps to their future.
Over 2 billion people suffer from soil-transmitted diseases and parasites. They live in areas that do not have adequate sanitation. They struggle with proper hygiene. They do not have the right clothing, resources, or health coverage. And being sick = struggling. Kids miss school, can’t help their families, suffer with pain. Many of these diseases and parasites make their way into the body because people don’t have shoes.
There are over 300 million children who do not have shoes. And countless more with shoes that do not fit. Sometimes they receive donations of shoes, but these are kids. Their feet grow. And they outgrow donated shoes within a year. Right back where they started.
Don’t hesitate to also donate directly on “The Shoe That Grows”, and let your friends know about this fantastic non-profit action.
